Gleaning Insights from PBI

The Chief Data Office’s (CDO) newest deep-dive training, focused on the Power BI platform, is titled Gleaning Insights from a Dataset. The training is homed in on the critical task of telling an effective story with a given dataset. In this case, the data at hand is nutrition information from different fast-food restaurants.   Four 90-minute sessions were held with associates from across SAIC as the group worked on enriching the data and presenting a compelling end-user experience. Eddie Franz, Analytics Coach for the CDO, led the sessions and designed the final product – a Power BI dashboard that informs and compels the end user to think more carefully when they are eating out at a popular fast-food restaurant.
